Amanda’s First day in the Philippines

Tjena! Kamusta! Hello!

Ang plangalan ko po ay Amanda Wisselgren.
My name is Amanda Wisselgren and yesterday i arrived here in the Philippines with my traveling friends Lo, Emma and Klara.
My brain haven’t really processed yet that I am here now and that I will stay here in 3 months!

I have never been this long from home, so at the same time it as it feels like I’m not gone for super long, it feels like I just left my life at home for forever.
So, how is my life at home then may you wonder, or maby not, I will tell you anyway!

I’m really looking  forward to learn new things from this trip, and just because I don’t know really what I am going to learn. I love to meet new people and that’s one of many things I know is going to happen so that will be really fun!

As I said I just arrived here yesterday and there is already much difference from home. It’s a lot more humid, VERY, but in a refreshing way! It’s also a lot of differences when we were driving through the city to eat yesterday. We drove threw a red light district and saw some homeless children. I was prepared that these differences would be here, it’s just very weird to take in when I’m actually here. I didn’t give it to much thought when we saw it because we had just arrived with the plane, but just because I have worked with children in similar situations in Sweden I think that will be something that i will notice and compare with Sweden rather I like it or not.

The people that we met so far has been so kind and happy, I feel so lucky so get this opportunity.

To be honest, it was a bit hard to wright in English so maby ill just wright in Swedish from now on… Or I’ll just suck it up and wright in English. What I’m trying to say is: we’ll see!
