Möt Julieth: från Karagwe till Lidköping

I ett antal inlägg framöver presenterar årets internationella deltagare i Ung i den världsvida kyrkan sig själva. De är i Sverige under mars till maj. Här möter ni Julieth från Karagwe Tanzania som har haft sin första församlingsperiod i Lidköping.

My name is Julieth Samson, from Karagwe Diocese in Tanzania.

I thank God for enabling me to be in good health until now. My first time in Sweden was something I had always dreamed of. But the experience wasn’t just the country itself, it was my time in the small charming town of Lidköping. My journey is rooted in faith, resilience, and personal growth. Coming from a religious background, I have learned the importance of compassion, humility, and living a life guided by purpose.

Even though it was a new place, I felt a sense of calm and belonging.

My first time in Lidköping parish has been a meaningful experience. The environment was peaceful and welcoming, allowing me to reflect and feel deeply connected to my faith. Even though it was a new place, I felt a sense of calm and belonging.

These experiences helped me grow both spiritually and personally, reminding me that new places, people, and even small moments can have a lasting impact.

Staying with my host families made the experience even more special. They welcomed me with kindness and made me feel at home. I also had the chance to enjoy simple but memorable foods like cheese pies and soft, sweet boller, which added warmth to everyday moments we shared together. But I was also able to see how youth participate in different ways in daily life, both in church and society, including participating equally in worship and sports.

These experiences helped me grow both spiritually and personally, reminding me that new places, people, and even small moments can have a lasting impact.
